A Common Ground Films documentary · in production

Beyond Vision

A blind Navy veteran has climbed the highest peak on every continent and skied to the South Pole. One leg remains.

About the film

Beyond Vision is a feature documentary in production from Common Ground Films, following Lonnie Bedwell’s pursuit of the Explorer’s Grand Slam — the highest peak on all seven continents, plus the North and South Poles. He has completed every leg but one.

Lonnie lost his sight in a hunting accident in 1997. He went on to become the first blind person to kayak the length of the Grand Canyon, and has since climbed Everest, Denali, Aconcagua, Kilimanjaro, Elbrus, Vinson, Carstensz Pyramid and Kosciuszko, and skied to the South Pole. The North Pole is what remains, and it is where the film is heading.

Common Ground Films is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The film and the expedition are being funded together.
