Carstensz Pyramid – October 2025

Summitting Carstenz Pyramid

Carstensz Pyramid (16,024 ft / 4,884 m)

In October 2025, Lonnie Bedwell, accompanied by his team including adventurer Bryan Hill, stood on top of Carstensz Pyramid in Papua, Indonesia — the final of the Seven Summits. Considered the true “7th” summit of Australasia, Carstensz is as famous for its technical rock and remote jungle approach as it is for its height. Bryan guided Lonnie through the steep fixed lines and exposed ridges until Lonnie’s hand found the very top.

And that’s a wrap — Lonnie has now climbed to the highest peak on all seven continents.

Next goal: the North Pole by ski — to complete the Adventurer’s Grand Slam.

More details, memories, and reflections from this extraordinary climb are coming soon.
