Help Lonnie Reach the North Pole
One goal remains. Lonnie Bedwell has stood on the highest point of every continent and walked to the bottom of the world — and he has done all of it without seeing any of it. What is left is the top.
The North Pole is the last leg of the Explorer’s Grand Slam, and it is unlike everything that came before it. There is no summit to reach and no rock to stand on. It is drifting sea ice over four kilometres of Arctic Ocean — a destination that moves out from under you while you sleep. For a man who reads the ground through his feet and his poles, it is the hardest terrain he has ever been asked to trust.
It is also the hardest leg to fund. Polar expeditions cost more than any mountain, and Lonnie has never had a corporate sponsor underwriting his adventures. Getting Lonnie onto the ice is a community effort, and there are two ways to be part of it.
Donate to the expedition
Donations are made to the Blind Endeavors Foundation, which receives one hundred percent of every gift and puts it directly toward Lonnie’s expeditions.
